 â€¦Motorists Increase Fares

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has assured the public that there is no imminent increase in the cost of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.

NNPC Ltd. urges Nigerians to disregard unfounded rumours and assures them that there are no plans for an upward review of the PMS price.

Motorists nationwide are advised against engaging in panic buying, as there is presently ample availability of PMS across the country.

Motorists in some parts of Lagos increase their fares by 100 percent on their routes claiming that they are buying fuel N630 per litre.

For instance, the fare to Kingsway bus stop along Mobolaji Bank –Anthony Way in Ikeja from Maryland which was usually N100 has been increased to N200. Also, the fare from Isaac John, Ikeja GRA to Ogunaike Street within GRA has been increased from N100 to N200.

There are so many instances like that within the Lagos metropolis. They all blame it on the increase in fuel pump prices.

Meanwhile, the  queues that characterized many parts of Lagos metropolis a few days ago have reduced, owing to an improved  supply of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS)
