It is good to be one because The Eagle is richly blessed with enviable traits. A mother-eagle renews its strength after being enmeshed in rigours of life over time, after many years of flying and becoming weak. Why not? After all, you will agree with me that ‘body no be stone’ like we say in local parlance.
Its feather, and by extension, its wings have become weak and need be renewed. The Eagle plucks off its old feathers with its beak and grows fresh ones for a fresh start. It must, because at this state, The Eagle has become vulnerable to the enemy.
In a similar manner, a business concern, that has been in the business space for a considerable length of time and has manufacturing equipment that have become outdated, must take steps to re-energize in this age of IT if it must fly high, if it must remain in business. For the same reason for strength renewal like The Eagle does, companies personnel, senior ones in most cases, go on retreat annually to reboot.
This is the same reason why Caucasians and people of the developed world, during summer, travel to different parts of the world on holidays. Several CEOs, religious leaders in Nigeria and some other African countries do too.
An Eagle has a very long life-span. It can live for 120 years. It has one of the longest life-spans among birds,
According to Bible scholars, God likens The Eagle’s hibernation on high mountains for strength renewal to Moses’ going to the mountain to pray. This is called fresh in filling of anointing in divine parlance. The Eagle entrepreneur can imbibe The Eagle’s lifestyle or Moses’ and excel.
The Eagle has a cutting edge over its enemies, over its competitors. When pursued, it heads for the sun. It can face the sun; other birds cannot. If they do, they will go blind. The Eagle can ascend up to a height of up to 30,000 feet above sea level. This is the altitude at which the Jumbo jets, the Boeing 747s and Airbuses fly. No other birds can reach that height, no one. What a cutting edge for The Eagle!
The Eagle selects the highest mountain to live on and looks for the tallest tree and the tallest branch. So to catch an eagle, you must be superhuman, you must sweat, sweat hard. The eagle entrepreneur must imbibe this eagle trait.
The Eagle leaves a flying legacy to her young ones. They must be trained to succeed her. They must. How? When she has hatched her eggs, and the young ones have hatched their little wings, the mother eagle then carries the young ones on her back for a training flight. It flies carefully up into the sky until it gets to a very great height. Note this – a very great height (no pampering them). It will then dive suddenly and vertically until the young ones fall off its back. All of them will begin to shriek for fear as they begin to fall earthwards.
For the first time, many of the young ones will begin to flap their wings and fly! But the mother-eagle will allow anyone that does not know how to fly to continue to fly, to continue to fall until they almost hit the ground. It will then swiftly sweep under them and carry the young ones on its back to the heights again. It will do this every day until they learn to exercise and use their wings to fly on their own. Finally, she will allow the young ones that will not open their wings to fly to hit the ground and die.
That is the mother-eagle for you. And this is what is expected of The Eagle Entrepreneur.
The Eagle is a rugged bird. It flies above he cloud, the rain and the storm. It uses the rain and storm to ascend higher. The cloud, the rain and the storm send other birds into hiding but not the The Eagle. It enjoys them.
So should The Eagle Entrepreneur. He is a master risk-taker. He is a challenger. He has passion. He is a visionary. He makes it happen. He is the alpha and omega.
