CRFFN, Nigeria’s Unique But Largely Unrecognised Gift – Dr. Aniebunam

The Founder of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders, NAGAFF, Dr. Boniface Aniebunam, has described the establishment of the Council of Freight Forwarders of Nigeria, CRFFN, as a unique industry gift and a major breakthrough, delivered by the National Assembly.

He also posited that the uniqueness of the ‘gift’ is yet to be adequately recognised, let alone appreciated, by relevant stakeholders.

“It is a major breakthrough that the National Assembly has given Nigeria. The CRFFN is one gift Nigerians do not know; a gift that the National Assembly, the honourable members, the wise men have given to Nigeria”, the revered politician and Customs broker said.

He indicated this in an exclusive chat with Maritime First in Lagos, while stressing the importance of the nation’s freight forwarders and the need for the country to refocus on the industry’s foundational structures. This, he explained, was the original reason for the Port Reforms.

He strongly believes that the freight forwarders are the genuine arteries of the country’s economy.

“We (freight forwarders) are very strategic. We are the artery of the national economy. So you need to get us right by regulation”, Aniebunam stated, stressing that as an ex-Customs officer, he appreciates the fact that the port is a Customs port.
