Funke Akindele is currently trending with ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’, a 2024 drama film about a businesswoman and social media influencer named Jenifa. The movie is about how Jenifa’s life changes when a wealthy newcomer, Lobster, moves into her estate and overshadows her community influence.
According to reports, Funke Akindele is expecting at least N5 billion in total box office revenue from her new ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ movie project. Her previous record-breaking film, ‘A Tribe Called Judah,’ became the first ever Nollywood film to cross the N1 billion mark in cinemas in 2023.
Since the release of the film on December 13,2024, it has grossed over N1.466 at the box office, surpassing the previous record held by Akindele’s 2023 film, A Tribe Called Judah which earned N1.404 billion.
Through the distribution of Nile Entertainment, headed by Moses Babatunde, ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ is set to hit 30 international cinemas, including Australia, US, and the United Kingdom.
